Troy Davis

2day’s somber comic focuses on the fates of two individuals. One individual allegedly murdered her daughter and then hid her body in the trunk of her car. When she appeared in court, there was a mountain of evidence and the defense appeared to have an open and shut case. The other individual allegedly murdered a cop two decades ago, and was convicted based on a mountain of statements from eyewitnesses and was sentence to death; only now, several of the witnesses have said that they were coerced into making false statements. Which person do you think ultimately got off and which person do you think is facing death by lethal injection tonight? And what’s even weirder is the fact that despite all kinds of mentions the last few days, the second individual in question, Troy Davis isn’t trending, but the first, Casey Anthony, is. While I don’t confess to knowing if Davis commited the crime or not, I believe he does deserve a retrial at the very least. Click the comic to enlarge.

September 21, 2011 Keep the Change comic strip

To encompany this special strip, I thought it would only be fitting to include the song that I was listening to as I was drawing this strip. What are your thoughts on this story? Do you think justice is being served?
