Packers get Super Bowl Rings
This past Thursday, the Green Bay Packers finally received their Super Bowl XLV rings at Lambeau Field. The prized jewerly features the team’s iconic “G” logo comprised of 13 diamonds — one for each of the franchise’s championships — surrounded by four more football-shaped diamonds representing all four of the Packers’ Super Bowl triumphs. The platinum and 18-karat gold rings, which weigh 116 grams, have 92 other diamonds — a nod to the Packers’ 92-year history — bringing the grand total to 3.35 carats. The Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV and they kickoff the 2011 season against the Super Bowl XLIV champion New Orleans Saints, if there is a season.
