Movie Reviews: Transformers:Dark of the Moon
Transformers:Dark of the Moon, the third installment of the Transformers franchise hit movie theatres Wednesday and if its the last one, it definitely goes out with a bang (This review contains spoilers). Shia LeBouf returns as Sam Witwicky, and in this film, he has another hot girlfriend, named Carly ( played by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley). Sam is freshly graduated from college, but is unable to land a job (sound familiar?) despite saving the world twice. Meanwhile, the Autobots (good Transformers) uncover secrets about their home planet (hidden on the moon) and Optimus Prime learns that Senitel Prime, his mentor is alive. After several shocking events, the Autobots and humans have to team up to keep the Depticons from taking over the Earth. Shockwave and Megatron are among the Depticons that return and Tyrese, Josh Duhamel and John Turturro reprise their roles as well. This movie is definitely darker and more violent than the previous two and fighting scenes are also better (especially in 3D). The movie also runs long at 2 hours 34 minutes (younger viewers may get antsy). The 3D animation is spectacular and the plot is actually pretty good. If you liked the first two, you will definitely enjoy this one. Grade: B+. Click the pic to enlarge.
