Kobe Fined 100K for Slur
Kobe Bryant has more these days to be concerned with than just playoff seeding. The NBA fined the reigning NBA Finals MVP $1oo large for comments made last night during the Lakers-Spurs game. After being called for a technical, Kobe stormed to the bench, threw a towel and then yelled at official Bernie Adams. Bryant then leaned back and muttered a gay slur. NBA Comissioner David Stern called Bryant’s outburst “offensive and inexcusable.” Click the image to enlarge.
Bryant issued this statement afterwards; “What I said last night should not be taken literally,” he said. “My actions were out of frustration during the heat of the game, period. The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone.” What are your thoughts?
