Heat End Skid, beat Red Hot Lakers
Last night in Miami, two streaks ended as the Miami Heat defeated the LA Lakers 94-88. The Heat ended a 5 game losing streak and snapped the Lakers eight game winning streak. Chris Bosh stepped up and lead the Heat with 24 points, Dwyane Wade added 20 points and LeBron James flirted with a triple double (19 points, 9 assists, 8 assists) as Miami secured a postseason berth. Kobe Bryant scored 24 points for the Lakers and Pau Gasol added 20 as LA lost for the first time since the All Star break. In the other marquee game last nite, the Dallas Mavericks blew by the new look New York Knicks 127-109. Dirk Nowitski scored 23 for the Mavs; Amar’e Stoudamire led New York with 36, but was called for his 16th technical, which will lead to an one game suspension if upheld.
